Let’s face it, most of us get out of school, get a job, and stop focusing on learning. We lean into doing the job, checking the boxes, or delivering the deliverables.
But whether it’s learning every nook and cranny of the business, or becoming a customer expert, learning is key.
Because if you never stop learning, you never get left behind.
Douglas Burdett host of The Marketing Book Podcast was our guest on the podcast recently, and had a lot to say about building a brand, continuous learning, and becoming a customer expert.
And before you throw your hands up and say, “I’m in the financial services industry. It’s too regulated for me to build a personal brand,” know that that’s an absolute nonsense excuse.
You probably can’t build a brand in the same way that a marketer for a creative agency can, but that shouldn’t stop you from learning and growing.
Because the companies with the deepest insights into their customers always win.
All you need to do is invest a little bit of extra time and energy into learning, and understand your customers a little bit more than your competition.
